Nasarawa 2027: Wadada Pledges Issue-Based Campaign, Inaugurates LGA Coordinators
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has pledged to run an issue-based campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wadada said his campaign will focus on programmes and policies that will improve the living standard of the people of the state, rather than attacking political opponents for cheap political gains.
He stated this at the inauguration of 13 Local Government Area Coordinators and 13 Women Leaders of the Wadada Project held in Lafia.
Wadada, who was represented by the Chairman of the Wadada Project and Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, who is also the Overseeing Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Housing, said the movement would not engage in politics of bitterness.
Kwanta, who inaugurated the coordinators on behalf of the Senator, said the appointees are expected to coordinate activities of the project across the 13 LGAs of the state and deepen engagement with communities, stakeholders, women and youth groups.
He described the Wadada Project as a broad-based movement comprising professionals, politicians, business leaders, intellectuals, women and youth leaders, community influencers, artisans, farmers, students, persons with disabilities and other patriotic citizens committed to the progress of Nasarawa State.
According to him, the selection of the coordinators and women leaders followed rigorous consultations and assessment to ensure that only credible and capable individuals were entrusted with the assignment.
