Rabiu Kwankwaso has expressed sadness over the death of Kano-based political singer, Muhammadu Buhari, popularly known as Kosan Waka.

The singer died on Sunday in Kano at the age of 47.

Reacting in a post on Facebook, Kwankwaso described the news of the singer’s death as deeply saddening.

The former Kano State governor said Kosan Waka made notable contributions to the growth and advancement of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

“I’m deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the renowned singer, Muhammadu Buhari, a.k.a. Kosan Waka, today,” he wrote.

“Kosan Waka’s role in advancing the ideals of our movement will never be forgotten. I pray that Almighty Allah grants him Jannatul Firdaus.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Kosan Waka was widely known in Kano for his political songs and support for the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
