Ladipo Johnson, a spokesperson for Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, says presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, is unhappy over the leadership crisis rocking the OK Movement.

Johnson made the disclosure during an interview on Arise Television, where he acknowledged that disagreements had emerged within the Movement but described the development as a temporary distraction rather than a major threat to its political objectives.

He said the dispute had become an unnecessary distraction at a time when supporters should be concentrating on strengthening the Movement’s structure nationwide.

According to Johnson, the disagreement arose from differences between some members and the leadership of the Movement.

He cautioned against actions capable of creating divisions among supporters of the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso alliance ahead of the 2027 general election.

He warned that the crisis, if not properly managed, could undermine efforts to build a formidable political alternative before the next presidential poll.

Johnson also disclosed that Obi had been briefed on the situation and expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing disagreement in OK Movement.

“Yes, we have – may I call it a distraction at the moment. It is not such, in my own humble opinion, that would lead you to take unilateral actions that could possibly scuttle or bring bad blood within the support base of the person you purportedly want to become the president of the country.

“I saw the presidential candidate last night along with the DG. He’s not happy about the whole situation,” he said.
