Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, a group known as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Integrity Group, has urged the leadership of the party and all relevant stakeholders to consider Senator Tanko Umar Al-Makura for the position of Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

 

It expressed confidence that Al-Makura’s appointment will strengthen party cohesion, energise the campaign structure and enhance the APC’s prospects of securing a resounding victory in the 2027 presidential election.

 

 

The group in a statement by its

National Coordinator, Ibrahim Mamman and National Secretary, Goodluck Okafor said it is convinced that the former Senator representing Nasarawa South, stands out as the most suitable candidate for the position of Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

 

“Senator Al-Makura remains one of the few founding fathers of the progressive movement whose political journey has been defined by discipline, integrity, humility, and service. His role in the growth and consolidation of the APC, particularly in the North Central region and across the country, is well documented.

 

“He has consistently demonstrated commitment to the ideals of the party and has maintained cordial relationships across political, ethnic, and religious divides.

 

“At a time when the APC is preparing for another critical electoral contest, the party requires a campaign manager who can unite all tendencies within the fold, coordinate stakeholders effectively, and inspire confidence among party members and the general electorate. Senator Al-Makura possesses these qualities in abundance,” the statement said.
