Galaxy Backbone’s single portal to unify Nigeria’s government services – Technology Times
Galaxy Backbone (GBB) has launched a new Government Service Portal (GSP) designed to bring digital services from Nigeria’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) onto a single online platform, a move expected to simplify how citizens and businesses access government services.
The portal, available at services.gov.ng, marks a significant milestone in the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda by creating a unified digital gateway through which users can discover and access participating government services without navigating multiple agency websites.
The platform was soft-launched in Abuja by Galaxy Backbone in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy (FMCIDE) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
Hosted at the Galaxy Backbone National Shared Services Centre, the launch brought together senior government officials, development partners, technology stakeholders and members of the media to unveil what officials described as a foundational component of Nigeria’s digital government ecosystem.
Speaking at the launch, Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, described the portal as a key milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey. “The Portal is more than a website; it is the foundation of a unified digital gateway that places the needs of citizens and businesses at the centre of government service delivery,” Adeyanju said.
