IGP Disu Ordered to Produce PFIPC Boss, AGF Block TSA

Di House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee wey dey investigate PFIPC don order Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to produce di alleged director-general of di disputed agency, Adeniyi Adeyemi, on July 29, 2026, by noon. Di committee yarn say IGP must bring am face-to-face as investigation continue.

On Monday, di Accountant General of di Federation, Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, tell di committee say im office don reject PFIPC request to open Treasury Single Account (TSA) because due diligence no complete. Ogunjimi explain say dem bin request TSA, but dem say no go until all requirements meet.

Adeyemi don accuse Chief of Staff, Gbajabiamila, to collect ₦400 million through proxy and ask for extra ₦200 million to help presidential approvals. But Gbajabiamila deny di matter under oath, say im no get any relationship with Adeyemi, and im never demand or receive money, abuse office, or interfere with security agencies. Im also deny involvement in di death of Babatunde Tanimola, who Adeyemi say act as middleman, and any assassination attempt or interference with investigations.

President Bola Tinubu don direct ICPC to investigate di issue. Two weeks ago, Gbajabiamila file ₦15 billion defamation suit against Adeyemi for High Court of FCT, Abuja, seeking ₦10 billion general damages, ₦5 billion aggravated damages, ₦200 million cost, and order for publication of retraction and apology for five national newspapers and social media.

Di House of Representatives don set up 12-member ad hoc committee under Yusuf Gagdi to investigate how di agency form and how e enter 2026 budget. Gagdi promise thorough and fair investigation. Last week, ICPC confirm say dem don question Gbajabiamila about PFIPC.
