Lateef Adedimeji and Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman Lead the Cast of ‘Black Market,’ Rixel Studios’ Guinness World Record-Chasing Movie

‘Black Market,’ the upcoming thriller from Rixel Studios, will not have a traditional premiere. On September 26, 2026, the film’s debut will double as an official Guinness World Records attempt for the largest attendance at a film screening in a single location, with organizers aiming to gather 50,000 people at Tafawa Balewa Square, surpassing the existing record of 40,000.

The film brings together an ensemble of established and emerging Nigerian screen talent, including Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Itele D Icon, Scarlet Gomez, Omowunmi Dada, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok, and Uzor Arukwe, alongside Folagade Banks, Tomiwa Tegbe, Andrew Yaw Bunting, Shamz Garuba, and Adeoluwa Akintoba.

Directed by Fatimah Binta Gimsay and shot on location in Abeokuta, Nigeria, ‘Black Market’ is described by its makers as a thriller rooted in authentic Nigerian storytelling.

‘Black Market’ is only Rixel Studios’ second feature film, following its 2025 debut, ‘Red Circle,’ a crime thriller that became one of the year’s notable Nollywood box office successes. The studio is again working with Lateef Adedimeji and Omowunmi Dada, who also starred in ‘Red Circle,’ as it looks to build on that momentum with an even bigger cultural moment.

Producers say the record attempt marks a significant milestone for the Nigerian film industry and reflects a shared vision, from Rixel Studios and its partners, of building cultural moments that extend beyond the screen.
