Nigeria’s representatives in the 2026/27 CAF Inter Club Competitions – Rangers International, Rivers United, Shooting Stars and Elkanemi Warriors – will know their opponents when the draw takes place on Thursday, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Preliminary Draw will be conducted on Thursday, 07 August and will be LIVE on CAF’s YouTube Page and also CAF’s broadcast partners. The draw will take place at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

The CAF Confederation Cup draw will begin at 14h00 local time (12pm Nigerian time), followed by the CAF Champions League draw at 15h00 Cairo time (1pm Nigerian time).

The 2026/27 season will kick off with the First Preliminary Round on 4-6 September 2026 (first leg), followed by the return legs from 11-13 September 2026. The Second Preliminary Round is scheduled for 16-18 October 2026, with the decisive return fixtures taking place between 23-25 October 2026.

The winners of the CAF Champions League will receive USD 6 million in prize money, while the CAF Confederation Cup champions will earn USD 4 million.

Meanwhile, clubs eliminated in the preliminary rounds will each receive a solidarity payment of USD 100,000, part of CAF’s continued investment in supporting participating teams and increasing engagement in its Interclub competitions

NPFL champions Rangers International and Rivers United are Nigeria’s representatives in the Champions League, while Shooting Stars and Elkanemi Warriors will fly the country’s flag in the Confederation Cup.
