Etihad Airways appoints APG Nigeria as sales agent ahead of March 2027 Lagos flight return





Etihad Airways has appointed APG Global Associates Network Limited (APG Nigeria) as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in Nigeria, laying the commercial groundwork for the UAE flag carrier’s scheduled return to the Lagos route in March 2027.

The partnership was formalized via a Letter of Intent (LOI) signed at the Legend Hotel in Lagos on July 25, 2026.

Under the agreement, APG Nigeria, a local partner of the global airline representation network APG Inc, will handle commercial distribution, travel trade engagement, corporate sales, and market development for Etihad across Nigeria.

The signing was attended by senior executives from both organizations, including Javier Alija, Vice President of Global Sales & Distribution at Etihad Airways, and Khaleefa Mohamed Al Hammadi, Regional General Manager for Sales, Digital and Distribution.

The APG Nigeria delegation was led by Olufemi Adefope, Group Chairman; Christopher Isaiah, Group General Manager – Commercial; and Gloria Atumu, General Manager.

“Nigeria represents one of the most important aviation markets in Africa, and we are delighted to partner with APG Nigeria as we strengthen our commercial presence,” said Alija during the event.

Etihad plans to resume daily passenger operations between Abu Dhabi and Lagos on March 18, 2027, utilizing a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The route will connect Nigerian passengers through Abu Dhabi International Airport to over 120 destinations across Europe, Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East.
